hot.com.au provides you an option to return goods if you've changed your mind subject to the conditions below.

Before we list the conditions we're offering this guarantee because many others do, but it seems people rarely read the fine print! Put simply with most guarantees you could never claim! Our intention is to offer what is fair and reasonable. For example if you purchased an item that simply would not fit on your desk because you misread the dimensions then you'll still need one so we'll try and come to an arrangement.

We're not interested in being a free rental service so we draw the line on products with consumables or items you're lightly to need to use once (film scanners come to mind). On some business laser printers you can actually try the printer free for 30 days (subject to business qualification) please contact us for details.

If you have a genuine problem we'll try and find the answer that's fair to us both.

Returning an item you no longer want

If you've changed your mind we will accept most items back into stock within 30 days of ordering, however if you believe you've found a lower genuine price please contact us with the details before you apply as its most lightly covered under our Price Guarantee offer below.

This offer is subject to the following conditions:

Must arrive back to us within 30 days from invoice date.
Not available for any software, lamps or other items we've had to order in as a custom order (e.g.. custom made projection screens etc.).
Items must be in original condition with original packaging, manuals, cables etc. just as you were supplied.
Packaging must be undamaged, not used or installed in any way and unopened. The item(s) must be ready for resale just as you'd expect to receive them (i.e. Brand new).
Postage, handling and insurance is not refundable in either direction.
A 7.5% handling fee will also be deducted from the refund payment.
You are responsible for insured transport back to us, any damage in transit will void this offer.
If you're having problems with the item this most lightly comes under warranty and not this offer as you've already opened/used it.
If items arrive damaged please contact us.
Your claim must be in writing with all the details.

If you're having problems with a recently purchased item, you will generally be protected by the manufacturer's warranty. This offer is available only to those people who have not yet opened the product(s). If you have opened and installed the product then contact us for further options. It's best to ask us or the manufacturer for advise before you buy if you think there is a chance the item may not do what you require.

Price Guarantee - We'll refund the difference plus 10%

Price Guarantee

If within 7 days of invoice date you find a lower price we will subject to the conditions below refund the difference plus 10%.

Price must be from Australian company with registered ABN, street address & trading for at least 12 months.
Item must be in stock at their premises ready to pick up in person.
Not applicable to auction sites or similar as determined by hot.com.au.
Item must not be "Gray Market" and must come with full Australian warranty.
Limit one claim for one item per person per month.
You must fax us a copy of the written quote or email us the URL of the web page with the price on it, claims must be in writing.
Calculation if our product price is more is for the total checkout price including delivery, surcharges etc.
Items must be exact same, with exact same accessories and options and warranties. Package deals excluded.
Excludes "Loss leaders" normally found on front covers of catalogues to get you into the store to buy something else.
Excludes items that we would have to sell at more than 20% below cost to match or better the price, trade sales, stock liquidations, cash back offers & items by redemption.
Some items are not covered by this offer to see if the item you're buying is simply enter "Price Guarantee" in the comments section (Hint copy it now) when you place the order. If there are any problems we will contact you and we will not process the order. If your order is processed and has "Price Guarantee" in comments then it will be covered by the terms of this offer.
We don't match prices for companies that consistently get bad feedback on forums in relation to taking your money then failing to supply and/or delaying your refund.

$50 if we mess up your order!

•We'll pay you $50 if we mess up your order

Should we bill your card without first checking with you that you're happy to wait and fail to supply your order as per section (b) below we will refund upon request via e-mail the amount we billed your card or the amount you paid us plus $50.

Refunds as per above will be paid within 7 days and may (at our discretion) be paid via store a coupon.

Offer excludes Paypal and B-Pay in advance etc. (because we couldn't double check stock before accepting funds).

You can get a fast confirmation by e-mail before paying the funds ( Paypal and B-Pay in advance etc.) to be eligible for this offer.

Excludes goods already delivered or in transit from us, or a distributor to you..

Amount we pay you can't be in excess of your order value, so if your card was charged $30 you will be paid back $60 in total including your purchase.

You agree to allow us the stated delivery times in (b) below and not post negative feedback on forums etc. before the time expires.

You agree to make every effort to contact us first.

(b) You also agree for the purpose of supply a reasonable maximum amount of time is 21 working days. (Most east coast city deliveries are one to three working days, WA can be two or three days more..) unless the goods were listed as "Back order" or "Special order" etc. in which case the maximum time (excluding OS imports, and special non-stock orders i.e. lamps where we bill your card before we order) is agreed as 90 working days. See other conditions below.

Important! During holidays (Christmas to New Year etc.) a product that may have been listed as in-stock can when we process your order become a back-order, during breaks stock data may become less accurate. We will contact you should this happen for your instructions. During this busy period we suggest you contact us via email if your order is urgent.

• Delivery time guarantee is working days and does not cover holiday breaks or weekends.

• Over 14 days expected delivery time we will contact you. If you decide to wait longer then no $50 guarantee applies.

• If we have not billed your card for any reason including the item(s) were on back-order and you decide you still want to place an order (we must bill your card or have payment first) the $50 guarantee will not apply.

-- Our reasoning is back-orders and their actual delivery dates are out of our hands, that's why we try to avoid billing your card in the first place.

• Most deliveries are fast, as at May 2011 we've only had 2 claims.
