DLA X3 3D Ready Full HD D-ILA Projector (BLACK)

It is now possible to enjoy the excitement of 3D stereoscopic images in the comfort of your living room without using a special screen. The fast response characteristics and picture quality offered by D-ILA technology allow viewers to enjoy vivid and colourful 3D images with far less crosstalk or image ghosting.

Have no doubt with a much higher native contrast ratio (not the on/off measurement that's almost irrelevant in home cinema) especially in 3D, the JVC projectors out perform most others. Ask what the "Native" (or "real") contrast ratio is. Some claiming massive numbers are really just a few thousand to one, especially in 3D mode.

Native Contrast Info

With an impressive 50,000:1 native contrast ratio the DLA-X3 sets a new standard for home cinema. It's an immersive home 2D and 3D viewing experience for today's demanding consumer who wants the best black levels, the brightest, brilliant whites and the most natural color reproduction available.

The 3D Enabled 1920x1080 D-ILA Front Projector with with 2x motorized zoom lens, HQV Reon-VX video processor, on-screen gamma control, produces clear crisp 2D and 3D images without compromise.

  • *Optional 3D Glasses (PK-AG1) and 3D Synchro Emitter (PK-EM1) are required for viewing images in 3D.Note: Keystone, anamorphic mode and some other functions cannot be used while projecting in 3D mode.

3D Enabled

JVC has a long history of innovation in 3D, offering professional monitors that are used in movie production and broadcast quality processors that are the defacto standard for advanced 2D-3D conversion.

All JVC Procision X-Series models are 3D enabled. JVC uses a Frame Sequential Method that provides a full 1920 x 1080 pixels to each eye without crosstalk and flicker. Images are so realistic and so natural-looking that it's like being pulled into the scene. With the frame sequential method, separate left-eye and right-eye images are alternated and require active shutter glasses to perceive the image correctly. Two pairs of glasses and an infrared (IR) emitter are included with the DLA-X9. They are optional with the DLA-X7 & DLA-X3.

For best connection to a 3D source, all X-Series models are equipped with an HDMI v1.4a input.

3D is an immersive experience. To truly appreciate it, a large screen is required. JVC D-ILA projectors are the best way to enjoy 3D without compromise. A JVC D-ILA projector makes it possible to enjoy 3D with an engaging cinematic size that even the largest flat panel TV just can't match. JVC projectors deliver a 3D experience that far exceeds what a movie theater can offer.

The newly developed optical engine features a new wire grid and a redesigned aperture that reduce excess light leakage to negligible levels, making possible a remarkable 100,000:1 native contrast ratio. High contrast and film-like quality offered by the original D-ILA devices also help to ensure smoother greyscale, truer black levels, and increased depth.

Many years in development and supported by technical expertise, the D-ILA panel module is a JVC original LCOS (liquid crystal on silicon) reflective LCD panel module for projectors that guarantees precise video reproduction.

The D-ILA device provides smoother and natural-looking pictures thanks to more closely spaced pixel elements, which help to minimise visual artefacts such as the “screen-door effect”. And, when this device is combined with the new optical engine, cinema-like quality picture is assured.

Clear Motion Drive technology successfully generates an accurate intermediate frame even for scenes with rapid movement by employing JVC’s original high-precision interpolation algorithm that strengthens the precision of picture-character detection.

When the video signal source is 50/60 fps broadcasting, viewers can enjoy smoother and clearer images with reduced motion blurring thanks to this unique interpolation technique that optimises the number of frames The high-performance 2x zoom lens features a large-diameter, all-glass lens system with 17 elements in 15 groups including an ED (extra low dispersion) lens to guarantee the faithful projection of full HD images.

This lens system not only enhances focusing performance but also significantly reduces chromatic aberration and colour bleeding to better project images with ample depth. What’s more, it is also equipped with a 16-step aperture function that enables adjustment of brightness according to user preferences and/or operating environment to realise the deepest black possible.

*Optional 3D Glasses (PK-AG1) and 3D Synchro Emitter (PK-EM1) are required for viewing images in 3D.

Note: Keystone, anamorphic mode and some other functions cannot be used while projecting in 3D mode.

The mechanism behind 3D viewing involves binocular disparity, a unique form of depth perception used by humans that takes two different views and moulds them together into a three-dimensional object. 3D video content is created by using a special camera with two separate lenses that can record images for the left and right eyes sequentially.

These recorded images for the left and right eyes are projected separately on the projector and synchronized, which when viewed by 3D glasses that darken sequentially for each eye, create binocular disparity to enable the brain to perceive them as 3D stereoscopic images.\

All JVC Procision Series projectors use a premium lens that offers both the highest resolution and the easiest installation.

Many home theaters have obstructions or other installation challenges. The motorized ±80% vertical and ±34% horizontal lens shift function enables far more flexibility in setting up the projector as it allows the projected picture to be easily moved horizontally or vertically. As a result, the projector does not need to be perfectly centered with the screen. In addition, the 2X motorized zoom & focus lens simplifies tedious zoom and/or focus adjustment. As an example, with a 100 inch wide screen, throw distances from approximately 11 feet to approximately 23 feet can be used.

The Procision series projectors feature a motorized lens cover which opens and closes in synchronization with power on/off to protect against dust. Even if the projector is installed on the ceiling, you are assured of easy, trouble-free operation via the remote control.

Screen Adjustment Modes

As the quality of projected images varies depending on the type of screen and its RGB reflective characteristics, JVC D-ILA projectors have screen adjustment modes that enable users to select the optimum mode to match screen characteristics for more natural and balanced color reproduction. Users may select from 99 modes to match their specific screen characteristics. A current list of projection screens and their specific modes is available on JVC's website.

Clear Motion Drive

New Clear Motion Drive improves pictures with rapid movement. As an original manufacturer of high-speed drive technology, JVC has further enhanced its detection interpolation technology through high precision interpolation algorithms to develop a new Clear Motion Drive that helps to smooth movement in the picture. By reducing blur that can be generated in high-speed scenes such as sports events, etc., the new Clear Motion Drive makes the overall picture much smoother and clearer. Additionally, as the amount of picture delay is very limited, these projectors are also well suited for playing video games.

Low Noise Operation

JVC's attention to detail is very evident in the quiet operation of all X-Series projectors. At 20db in "Normal" lamp mode, JVC projectors are the quietest in the industry.

DON'T RISK GRAY MARKET!

    • Make sure the product is not Gray Market, ask them did they import it? Is it Gray Market?
    • Gray Market products are imported by the original purchaser then they sell to you,
it may now be second hand at least in terms of warranty cover.
    • Read the fine print, who does the repairs?
    • Any warranty could rely on the seller staying in business.  What happens if they close up shop?
    • Choose a product backed by an Australian Channel Authorised repairer.
    • Note too that some items even though they look identical may not be, they may not be certified in Australia for 240V use, (C-Tick) in the event of fire you may not be covered.
    • Why take the risk?

JVC DLA X3 has way more REAL 3D contrast than any above so if 3D is your thing this model will not disappoint. The short version of why this is so, is because all 3-LCD projectors fudge the CR readings somewhat using iris settings they can't use in fast 3D. In 3D mode the performance depends on the "Native" or real CR (contrast ratio) so the JVC rules.

Home Cinema Projector

Get an immersive cinema experience in the comfort of your own home with our latest home theatre projectors. Contrast ratio is more important than brightness in most home cinema environments as the room should already be relatively dark. Contrast ratio is what makes the black scenes look black, and not a 'washed out' grey. As no projector can project black, you need to be able to control the lighting (through darker rooms and high contrast ratios) to get best results. Please feel free to contact us if you'd like any assistance.
