Even shutter speed effect, shots around obstacles or barriers and aperture effect can all be previewed. The live view offers a 100% field of view with 1.4x magnification. This, plus the 1,440,000-dot equivalent resolution, makes it easy to shoot the exact image the camera sees. Customizable Display The display settings can be easily adjusted to your preference. G1 also features the Quick Menu which allows a variety of settings while on live view mode. These are made possible with a 3.0 inch LCD with 460,000 dot resolution that rotates 180º, making shots from differing angles easier. The LCD backlighting is also sensitive to the surrounding light to make viewing always easy on the eyes. Intelligent Auto iA (Intelligent Auto) mode makes the appropriate settings for varying shooting conditions. G1’s iA mode activates six detection and compensation functions that work automatically so the photographer can concentrate on shot composition and capturing the moment. The camera also has a scene detection feature that automatically scene mode (portrait, night portrait, scenery, night scenery and close up) that best suits the situation. Autofocus and Shake Detection G1 has a contrast Autofocus feature for easier and more accurate focusing. With G1 AF feature, functions such as Face detection AF and AF tracking can also be delivered. Face detection adjusts the focus and exposure to capture faces properly while AF tracking keeps the subject in focus. The MEGA O.I.S shake detector works through gyrosensors that detect hand shake and shifts accordingly to compensate and achieve blur free photos. Further, a motion detection technology allows accurate ISO control when capturing moving subjects. Intelligent Exposure G1 can also correct the brightness in parts of the image that lack lighting, backlighting or flash. The camera also has a red-eye correction built-in the flash and the camera’s processing system to reduce red-eye when using flash. When in iA mode, the auto backlight compensation function activates whenever the camera senses that the light source is behind the subject.
