The Microtek ScanMaker 9800XL A3 flatbed scanner is popular with both the graphic arts and medical imaging markets. Whilst it may not be as fast as document scanners designed for the office market (e.g. Microtek XT6060), the Microtek 9800XL offers a higher resolution and advanced scanning features which will be valued by desktop publishing and pre-press users.

A transparency option is available for the 9800XL, however users seeking an A3 transparency scanner may want to consider the Microtek ScanMaker 1000XL model instead.

    The ScanMaker 9800XL+ brings affordable Tabloid size scanning to the corporate user or graphic designer. This 48-bit color unit can accommodate A3 or B size originals scanning images up to 12 inch x 17 inch at an optical resolution of 3200 x 1600 dpi. The large scan bed is also useful for production scanning environments allowing a batch scan of up to ten 3.5 inch x 5 inch photos on the bed at one time. A transparent media adapter ( optional ) is also available for scanning film a versatile solution for imaging professionals.
